The biggest difference in roller hockey and ice hockey is the surface. With the surface, we need different skates. Below are some great resources to get yourself started on the best roller hockey skates in the industry.
As ice players first, the Marsblade Roller Hockey R1 is second to none. The R1 uses a rocker and chasis combo that helps to mimic the feel and stride of an ice skate on roller hockey tiles so the transition between ice and roller is easy as possible for players. If you have an old boot you like you can simply remove the Tuuk and attach a Marsblade chasis to a current boot you own (image on the far right). It is not recommend to switch a skate from ice to roller with the intention of switching back to ice again. The skate you switch should be intended to be a permanent switch.

The Marsblade skates are the only roller hockey skate that uses technology to simulate the same stride and feel of an ice skate. After the Marsblades, traditional skate companies provide options, but will have a slightly different stride and feel. Also, the price point increases significantly to have an optimal performance skate.
